The First of the Seven Wonders of the World

Newsweek is conducting a poll for the "New" Seven Wonders of the World. Among the finalists are:The Great Wall of China, The Taj Mahal, the Roman Colosseum and Angor Wat. May I add one?bThe US Constitution. This magnificent work of human intelligence has changed the world. While it is much shorter than the McCain-Kennedy-and their Ilk attempted legislation. Its effects are being felt today.

A short history lesson. Traditional European thought has evolved from the Divine Rights of Kings. The theory, that still exists today, is that power is distributed by Government to the people. I might add that this concept was accepted by the Communist governments and in fact the Islamists that we are currently fighting.

Mr Jefferson's document plainly states that power resides in the people and they distribute it up, through the states to the federal government. Unfortunately most of our Democratic friends seem to have forgotten that.

We have a system that rewards hard work. We value incentive. The Left-wing pundits are concerned that this is not fair. OK, a couple of questions:

1. If we tax return in investment, what happens to the incentive to invest in your company?
2. If we tax prohibitively, why accumulate wealth? After all we are only going to save - and free up money to expand our economy, or spend and pump money into the economy.
3. We empower the government, not the other way around.
4. BY LAW! I repeat BY LAW, no emergency room can deny anyone treatment based upon their lack of wealth.
5. Yes, I may get better health care than an illegal immigrant. I do not think that is a problem.

Hillary Clinton is an avowed Communist. Read her words
John Edwards is an ambulance chaser and a light-weight.
John Kerry is a traitor and a liar.
Al Gore is quixotic at best.

This is a tragedy. Our government functions best when there is an intelligent exchange of ideas. I would love to see a well thought out Democratic platform. Where is it?

Again, let us all read the constitution. It is an amazingly well written document.
