About 100 years ago Max Richman got off of a boat from Austria. He married a young lady names Sadie Grusky from Romania and raised three daughters, Fay, Esther and Diana. About twenty years later Naphtali and Ida Flominbaum came her from the little Ukranian village of Pokatiliva - near Kiev. They raised three sons, Sol, Sam and David. Naphtali Flominbaum became Harry Flomberg. One of those sons, David married one of those daughters, Diana. They were my parents.
They came here fleeing from the wretched poverty and rabid anti-semitism that was eastern Europe. They became Americans.
Thank G-d for the country that welcomed them and gave them hope. None of them were ever wealthy, nor am I. Yet we share one precious item with people like George Washington. Abraham L:incoln, Theodore Roosevelt and even Albert Einstien. We share a greater wealth than a monetary one.
We all are Americans.
