We're all stupid

Or so says mr. Walter Cronkite. In the following paragraph (with a tip of the Flomberg Homberg
to Ms. Lucianne

Former CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite, in an appearance Friday on CNN's "Larry King Live," said Americans are too dumb to vote for the right candidates.
"We're an ignorant nation right now," Mr. Cronkite said.
"We're not really capable, I do not think the majority of our people, of making the decisions that have to be made at election time and particularly in the selection of their legislatures and their Congress and the presidency, of course."
Mr. Cronkite added: "I don't think we're bright enough to do the job that would preserve our democracy, our republic. I think we're in serious danger."

May I note that Mr C is the Father of irresponsible left wing journalism. I personally blame him specifically for the deaths of tens of thousands of American GI's in Vietnam. He was the man who decided that the Tet offensive was a major loss when in fact it was a decided victory. It was his nightly attacks on the war that convinced the North Vietnamese to hang on, knowing that they had a traiterous Fifth column headed up by Cronkite, Fonda and, in fact, the Democratic Standard bearer in the last presidential election.

Cronkite sat their with his ersatz Captain Kangaroo demeanor pontificating on the war and painting a picture of a situation that existed only in his own dim mind.
