Lets think about this for a second

In my humble opinion, the Conservative republicans are making the exact same mistake as the Kerry-Kennedy-Dean Democrats. Our conservative brethren are making a stand on the Supreme Court nominee and Roe-v-Wade. Do they really want to do that?

The ballgame in American Politics is the Vast Middle. Clinton realized this and he was unbeatable. Hillary is moving in that direction carefully. Thats where all the Marbles are.

Many honest Republicans understand that in many cases -- Rape, Incest and when the health of the Mother is at stake, an abortion is justifiable. Drawing a line and refusing to even discuss that one is foolish. Likewise the diatribes against the president over the Supreme Court nominee are self defeating and equally foolish.

What are we really fighting for?

How about a reliable and effective national Defense policy? How about getting the court out of the business of legislation? Lets stop the ridiciluous anti-Christian garbage that is being thrown around by the Left(Remember I'm Jewish). Lets not destroy the second ammendment. But on the other hand we need to take care of those who really need it, the Elderly and the ill. Public Education needs to be fixed, not destroyed.

When we paint all hispanic immigrants with that braod brush - are we doing any good? I am honestly more concerned with the OTM (Other than mexican) illegal immigrants. Thats the one that frightens me.

The Democratic party moved to the left some years ago and many of us found ourselves philosophically Republican. Now if the Republican party moves much further to the right, where do we go?

And when has discussing our differences been relegated to contentuous?
