I'm mad as hell..

But then I'm frequently mad about something or other. Lets look at todays list:

Global Warming

In the eleventh and twelfth centuries the vikings were farming Iceland and Greenland! Tree rings indicate that there have been regular periods of warming and chilling since, well, since before Bush was president, way before.

We live on an active planet. Things happen. It ain't G-d's fault, It sure as hell ain't George Bush's fault. When Napolean sold us Louisiana, rumor has it that one of the reasons that he was anxious to get rid of it was that his advisors told him that New Orleans was a disaster waiting to happen. There used to be forests in Antarctica. Back bef0re man has a chance to screw up the environment.

Harriett Miers -- Where to start.

Cronyism
We're not talking about U.S. Grant and the Teapot Dome Scandall. The lady ain't no bent-nosed hood. She's an experienced lawyer. Oh yeah - What about JFK and RFK? weren't they actually related? Didn't Clinton pick a crony to headup the new Medical Insurance program? Wasn't that Lady Macbeth --- err his wife? oh yes, they were Democrats

Law School
She didn'tgraduate from an Ivy League School. Horrors of Horrors. everyone who is upset raise their hand. I thought we fought a war to rid our country of royalty?

She's not a Judge
Nor were Whizzer White, Rhenquist and Goldberg. All of them were justices in the modern era, none of them were Judges when initially appointed to the Supreme Court. Oh yes - Wasn't White a former football player and a close friend of JFK's?

She's not Conservative enough
How the hell do we know? Isn't that what the Senate is supposed to find out?

And now the NEW Inflation
Apparently the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has increased by 1.2% in the last month. This annuallizes out to 14.4%. That is assuming that the inflation is consistant over the next 12 months.

However: factor out food and Fuel and the inflation is a modest .2% which annualizes out to a whopping 2.4% - Which is about where we are now. I would guess that the 1% we factored out is primarily oil and gas? Perhaps the fact that 19% of our refineries are temporarily shut down might have something to do with that?

Unemployment is sitting at a marginal 5.1%, the prime is at approximately 4.5%, Housing starts are strong -- Where's the Problem-- I know where it is -- the Main Stream Media can't find enough negative information to fill their front page and 1/2 hour broadcasts, therefore they must jump on any triviality that can be misinterpreted.

As the man said: They're stuck on stupid!
